project 12: close and involved

For this project I have shot some photographs of friends meeting up over dinner.  This was a casual evening of people chatting and generally being able to ignore that I am using a camera so closely on them.  It was easy to shoot so closely with people that I have known for some time as they were able to chat and carry on with their evening not feeling as though someone were intruding on them.


The ease of this project was in using people I know. The difficulty was that once we had sat down to eat, I was wedged into my seat and it wouldn't have been appropriate to my friends or to others in the restaurant to have me moving around.

I have used the automatic low light setting on the camera for ease as this made the pictures quicker to take and less intrusive than using the flash at such close contract.
