project 3: experimenting with light

For this project I have tried to use lighting that I would use in my day to day photography - meaning that I would look at flash and also have a reflector that I would experiment with but would not go as far as any specialist lighting as this isn't easily available to me and also isn't an area that I have any particular interest in.

A standard shot outdoors on an overcast day giving a soft light. The shirt (and colour of the remaning hair for that matter!) are blending into the background rock giving an almost camouflage feel to the shot.

For this shot I have used the flash despite being outdoors on a very sunny day in order to counteract some of the shadow caused by the hard light.

Indoors but using flash despite being able to get away without it. Without the flash the background looked bleached out and pale. Using the flash gave a warmer glow to the background and brought out the colour in the stained glass window and made the face look healthier.
