project 23: selective processing and prominence
I rarely do any "tweaking" of pictures - it would mean even more sitting at a computer than I already do. If I have a photo that I am pleased with but a little enhancing might be of benefit then I would give it a go but my knowledge is quite limited and when I am sat at a pc all day, I really try to not spend too much on it in the evening. I've chosen a picture that was already fairly dark (1). In (2) I have adjusted the brightness, and in (3) have adjusted the contrast - making it far too dark. I am, however, quite pleased with the slight adjustment made to (2). It has made the figure stand out against the background and given it more definition. As I say, this is something I would try if I had a picture that I was pleased with but wanted to try helping it a little - digitally changing a shot is something I want to do little of.
